Can! Academy Grads Seize Opportunity, Overcome Challenges
6/6/2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 6, 2008 – DALLAS – High school graduation is often thought of as the moment when a kid becomes an adult.
For the kids at Dallas Can! Academy’s three campuses, graduation represents more than a transition to adulthood, but also proves to the students, faculty and their families that they are embarking on new journeys with new lives.
Over 200 of the kids at the Dallas Can! Academies have successfully completed their high school education and will receive their diplomas at a graduation ceremony Saturday.
Perseverance and a collective sense of determination, from both the faculty and the student body, have motivated this group of graduates to live the dream of sprinting through the academic finish line.
“We are very pleased that we have these graduating students who stood firm with great determination to earn their high school diplomas,” explained Ross Avenue Principal Richard Davis.
Having overcome various hardships to meet this life-changing goal, the 2008 graduating class eagerly awaits the upcoming challenges life will throw at them next.
“I believe graduation is a starting point in a new life and success,” stated graduating Ross Avenue senior Virginia Villalobos. “It’s a great start for the future so we can become someone important in this world.”
